Like most of you, I don’t like giving a shout out for help. I value being self-sufficient, but my health had taken a turn from absolutely robust, to having to spend a lot of TLC on it, first on shoulders and bursitis off and on for a few years, secondly in kidney health needing rest, teas, investigation to find the right solutions, etc. It can take some bandwidth.
Often, its not the big asks, but the small ones that people permit us to make, that lend us just the support we need to keep us carrying the load we carry.
So I asked my already giving so much mother in law, to keep an eye out for a cheap mattresses on ksl or the like that we could venmo her for, we needed a guest bed with my daughter coming home for a surgery and I was so excited to have her stay with us! (Mind you, she offers generous gifts to us all the time, that she purchases of her own accord, too.)
She looked, but nothing came up, and so recommended I put a shout out on FB! I wouldn’t have done this, without her supporting recommendation. Two gals from my community reached out to me and I was finally able to get a free mattress and a cheap box spring, with their help! Thank you so much, Melissa and Kiersten!

The neighbor of the person donating a free box-spring, helped by giving me a rope and coaching and empowering me, on how to get the thing up on my van! So far, 4 people had helped me to get a bed ready for my daughter!!
I got out my acrylic paints and copied a plate I have, and a pretty flower from outside, as well as a rose from some cupboard lining.

I know for sure that the bed and area were no interior decorating masterpiece. But I was able to use my love and creativity, to create a more homey space for our daughter to come and heal in, as she recovered from her tonsillectomy.

The beautiful quilt on this guest bed is an example of the beautiful gifts my mother-in-law has given us!!
I thank my family, church community and community at large for the support I needed at this time to create a homier space for my daughter! Like Stone Soup, a little from a number in a community, really does add up!
