Ok! Let’s start off the subject. What season do you love best? Are you a summer girl or a fall guy? When did you come to love the seasons/that season?
This is when I really got into all the seasons. And this darling little book embraces all the seasons, too!
The other day, my little son came into my bedroom with a stack of board books. One of them, “I am a bunny” by Ole Risom a Richard Scarry, with simplicity but lovely details, walks a bunny through all the seasons and ends on a good note for naptime, or bedtime.
As you read a beautiful and sweet book, pause to ask some questions. Our “Little Ones” like predictable comments, sound effects, pretend play or questions you ask every time when you read a familiar story. Within the simple context of reading the scripted story and adding in questions about the illustrations or story, these illustrations will both instruct and come alive. You will be experiencing science and mathematics if not more, as well as imagination and play, in a very fun, bonding and natural way.

I realize the back drop is far from beautiful. My post Christmas closet is in poor shape. That nappy garbage bag is me slowly changing out my son’s clothes to the next size up!! The carpet cleaner on the non – carpeted floor awaiting funds for new flooring is, ironic. Maybe you can almost imagine a dose of morning breath seeing me before a comb has met my hair, let alone a bit of make-up there to grace my face.
